Exhibition Concept
Geography of Dreams

"For us, life is a dream, and architecture is an instrument for dreaming. Through our dreams and architecture, we can create realities that really matter to us. It is through these dreams that we pursue our lives."

In this exhibition, we are presenting our work and our concept of "dreams" under the title Geography of Dreams. Aimed at illustrating how we conceptualize and create our architectural work, the exhibition begins with basic descriptive materials, such as data, plans, concepts, and schemes, and then moves on to videos that depict our representative projects through the eyes of our longtime friend and photographer Hisao Suzuki. What follows is an exhibit on La Vila, an ongoing project through which we are working to express our dreams and cosmology as a "geography of dreams" over the years to come.

A land of forests, water, and memories, La Vila is the place that moved us to explore the creation of an open laboratory—a transversal, integral site for inquiry made in the most essential and genuine way possible; a place that will transform people's understanding of human perception and activate new relationships and behaviors.

The exhibition also illustrates our continued involvement with Japan through a video, texts, and sketches documenting our experiences from our visit in 2017, when we traveled to various parts of the country, including the forests of Yoshino, Nara, where we met with local residents who have been working with us on La Vila.
