Hiroshi Naito |
Architect
Born in 1950. Completed a master's program in architecture at Waseda University in 1976. Established Naito Archi tects & Associates in 1981. Became an assistant professor at the University of Tokyo in 2001; a professor at the same university in 2003, and served as executive vice-president of the university from 2010 to 2011. Among the many awards he has received is the '93 AIJ Prize for Design. |

Kenya Hara |
Designer
Born in 1958. Completed a master's program at Musashino Art University in 1983. He has concentrated on the "editing of values" in his art direction for exhibitions and the Muji brand to establish new standards based on era-defining keywords. In addition to his post as representative director at the Nippon Design Center, he is a professor at Musashino Art University, director of the Japan Design Committee, and vice chairman of the Japan Graphic Designers Association. |

Osamu Tsukihashi |
Architect

Collaborated on various projects with ATELIER φ beginning in 1970; the firm was renamed Hiroshi Hara + ATELIER φ in 1999. Became an honorary professor at the University of Tokyo in 1997. Among the many awards he has received are the '86 AIJ Prize for Design and the First Togo Murano Award in 1988. |

Yasuaki Onoda |
Architectural Programmer
Born in 1963. Graduated from the school of architecture at Tohoku University in 1986. Became a professor in the Department of Architecture and Building Science at the same university in 2007. Serves as architectural programmer for the Sendai Mediatheque and Yokosuka Art Museum. Among the many awards he has received are the '03 AIJ Prize for Design and the '08 AIJ Prize for Education. He is a core member of ArchiAid. |

Born in 1956. Graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1982. Worked at Arata Isozaki & Associates from 1983 to 1990. Establishing his own Tokyo-based practice in 1991 in order to do "anything that seemed interesting." His highly diverse work includes ser ies of houses, public archi tecture, and fashion boutiques. Awarded the Minister of Education's Art Encouragement Prize in 2004. |

Born in 1958. Graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at Kyoto University in 1982. Completed a doctoral course at the University of Tokyo in 1988. Established Coelacanth in 1988; the firm was renamed C+A in 1998, and CAt in 2005. Became a professor in the Yokohama Graduate School of Architecture at Yokohama National University in 2011. Among the awards he has received are the '90 Yoshioka Prize and the '97 AIJ Prize for Design. |

Became a lecturer at Toyo University in 2010. Began publishing a free paper called Roundabout Journal in 2007, and editing the web magazine Art and Architecture Review in 2010. |

After working at Kiyonori Kikutake Architects & Associates, established Urban Robot (URBOT) in 1971; the firm was renamed Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects in 1979. Among the many awards he has received are the '86 and '03 A I J Prize for Design; the '02 Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement from International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale; and the '06 Royal Institute of British
Architecture(RIBA) Royal Gold Medal. |

Born in 1956. Completed a master's program at Japan Women's University and worked in the office of Toyo Ito. Founded Kazuyo Sejima and Associates in 1987. Founded SANAA (Sejima and Nishizawa and Associates) in conjunction with Ryue Nishizawa in 1995. Along with Nishizawa, she was awarded the Pritzker Prize in 2010. |

Served as a research student in the Hara Laboratory, Institute of Industrial Science at the University of Tokyo from 1971 to 1972. Founded Riken Yamamoto & Field Shop in 1973. Among the many awards he has received are the '88 and '02 AIJ Prize for Design; the '98 Mainichi Art Award; and the '00 Japan Art Academy Prize. |
