Jun Igarashi

Born in Hokkaido in 1970.
Graduated from Hokkaido Central Engineering College in 1990.
Worked at Ben Architects from 1991 to 1995.
Established Jun Igarashi Architects in 1997.
Began teaching at Hokkaido Institute of Technology in 2005
and at Nagoya Institute of Technology in 2006.

Awards include
The 19th Yoshioka Prize (for Rectangular Forest) in 2003

The grand prix at the Biennale Internazionale di Architettura Barbara Cappochin
A prize for excellence at the JCD Design Award
The Good Design Award
(for the Temporary Playhouse for Osaka Contemporary Theatre Festival) in 2005

The Japan Institute of Architects (JIA) Environmental Architecture Prize for Excellence (for Annex) in 2006

The grand prize in the JIA Hokkaido Branch Residential Division (for Layered House) in 2009

The 21st JIA Rookie of the Year Award (for Rectangle of Light) in 2010.

Published works include Detail Volume: Jun Igarashi - Indications of a State (Shokokusha, 2010).
