A Historical Perspective of the Isoya Yoshida Awards

The final Isoya Yoshida Award was given in 1993. In all, a total of some sixty-one persons, including special award winners, received the prize. This exhibit takes a look at the history of the award. While it is no easy task to recognize individual archievement by awarding a prize, the Isoya Yoshida Award demonstrated its true power of recognition with a distinct novelty and dignity. This exhibit has been developed with a precision to and innovativeness that marks a fitting conclusion to the prize. The works of all the prize recipients are arranged on a panel, the borders of which feature monochrome photos and description of each winner, along with an introduction to the life of Isoya Yoshida himself.
