In Myanmar, one of the target countries of Asia Child Support’s support activities, the basic infrastructures of roads, electricity, and water are still underdeveloped even in areas not far from Yangon, the capital. As a result, water shortages in the dry season and infectious diseases transmitted by water polluted by open defecation remain major problems. Asia Child Support is installing large wells with generators and water supply facilities to support people's lives in such areas by securing safe water. Furthermore, we are spreading the use of household toilets for the sanitary water environment to last in the future and offering hygiene education for children to raise environmental awareness.
