Respect the Environment
TOTO products are used in the daily lives of our customers over a long period of time. Accordingly, taking into account the perspective of the product life cycle (from raw material procurement and manufacturing to sale, distribution, use, and eventually disposal), reducing water and energy use in the stage of product use helps contribute significantly to conserving the global environment. For that reason, in addition to introducing energy-saving technologies and renewable energy sources at our manufacturing plants, we are striving to realize environmetal consious designes within our product development and popularize products that are based on these designs.
“Environment” is another of the three global themes of the vision. For this theme, we have established the goals of “protect our limited water resources and connect with the future,” “undertake initiatives to fight global warming and coexist with the earth,” and “aim for sustainable development together with local communities,” and are engaging in various efforts to realize these goals. Based on these goals, we are working to “popularize water-saving products,” “reduce CO2 emissions,” and “engage in social contribution activities deeply rooted in local communities.”

  3. Description of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and CO2 emission/reduction They are defined in this report as follows:
    CO2 emissions and reduction: CO2 from the energy consumption of fuel and electricity
    Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions: Emissions produced from raw materials in addition to the CO2 from the energy consumption of fuel and electricity. This includes greenhouse gases derived from non-energy consumption that are converted to CO2
