Carlo Scarpa

1906
Born in Venice, Italy.
1919
Entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Venice.
1926
Graduated from the Academy, Became an assistant to Professor Guido Chrilli and began teaching at the Architectural Institute of Venice University.
1933
Trained in glass design at the Venini, a glasswork manufacturer on Murano Island. For two decades he created many masterpieces of glasswork (-1947).
1935
Became professor in the drafting department of the Architectural Institute of Venice University.
1977
Retired from teaching at the Architectural Institute of Venice University.
1978
During visit to Japan, he died in an accident in Sendai. In accordance with his will, his body was buried in one corner of the Brion Cemetery.
