Carlo Scarpa

1906: Born in Venice, Italy.
1919: Entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Venice.
1926: Graduated from the Academy, Became an assistant to Professor Guido Chrilli and began teaching at the Architectural Institute of Venice University.
1933: Trained in glass design at the Venini, a glasswork manufacturer on Murano Island. For two decades he created many masterpieces of glasswork (-1947).
1935: Became professor in the drafting department of the Architectural Institute of Venice University.
1977: Retired from teaching at the Architectural Institute of Venice University.
1978: During visit to Japan, he died in an accident in Sendai. In accordance with his will, his body was buried in one corner of the Brion Cemetery.
