Born in Kushiro City, Hokkaido in 1941. Graduated from Kobe University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture in 1965. In 1976, he founded Mozuna Kiko Architects & Associates. In 1985 he was awarded the Architectural Institute of Japan Prize for the Kushiro City Museum and the Kushiro Plains Observatory.
His publications include Cités et Mythologies(Seidosha, 1987), Origin of Holy Space(coauthored, Sumai Library Publishing Company, 1989), and Soñar, a collection of interviews with Mozuna Kiko(TOTO shuppan, 1992).
