Atelier Zo


Atelier Zo was established by Reiko Tomita, Hiroyasu Higuchi, (the late) Koichi Otake and others in 1971. The three cofounders were the members of "Atelier U" which was led by Takamasa Yoshizaka. Atelier Zo has recently moved its office to Tokachi, Hokkaido. Its activities vary from both international and domestic architectural designs to workshop organizations.
The Best Freshman of the Year Award, Minister of Education Prize for Art Promotion, 1977; AIJ Prize, Architectural Institute of Japan, 1982; Gold Prize, Iraka Award, 1987; Grand Prize, Japan Design Award, 1990; Design Award, "Living Downtown Tachikawa", 1991; Kamaran Prize (Taiwan), 1991.
