External Evaluations of ESG Performance
In response to requests from investors and society, TOTO makes an active effort to disclose information on its sustainability initiatives. We received high evaluations from environmental, social, and governance (ESG) perspectives from global ESG evaluation institutions.
Status of Inclusion in ESG Indexes
TOTO is evaluated on initiatives from ESG perspectives and has been included in the following ESG indexes. Going forward, we will promote management with even more emphasis on ESG initiatives.
Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World)
TOTO was selected for the global socially responsible investment indicator, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices(DJSI) World Index. This is the 13th time that TOTO has been selected for this index.
Also TOTO was selected for the DJSI Asia Pacific Index for the 16th consecutive year.
The DJSI was developed by S&P Dow Jones in collaboration with RobecoSAM, a company that specializes in investigating socially responsible investment. It analyzes corporations from the three perspectives of economy, environment, and society, and selects the top 10% of companies that excel in business sustainability as DJSI World Index.

FTSE4Good Index Series
Since 2016, TOTO has been selected for the FTSE4Good Index, an equity index series that is composed of companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards. (as of July 2025)
FTSE Blossom Japan Index
TOTO has been selected as a component of one of the ESG investment indices, the FTSE Blossom Japan Index. The FTSE Blossom Japan Index is a comprehensive ESG index that is a sector-neutral version of the FTSE4Good Japan Index, a series of FTSE indices and one of the ESG indices with the world’s longest history. FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index
TOTO has been selected as a component of one of the ESG investment indices, the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index. The components of the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index have been selected primarily on the basis of FTSE Russell’s ESG assessment, taking into account the management approach by each company to the risks and opportunities associated with climate change.

TOTO has been selected as a component of one of the ESG investment indices, the MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index. The MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index is an index developed by the US company, MSCI. It selects companies with relatively high ESG ratings in each industry from the largest Japanese companies by market capitalization. (as of June 2025)
MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index
TOTO has been selected as a component of one of the ESG investment indices, the MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN). The MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) is an index developed by the US company, MSCI. It calculates scores in a multifaceted manner based on women’s employment-related data disclosed under the Act on the Promotion of Women's Active Engagement in Professional Life and information disclosed by companies and selects companies in each industry that are recognized for women’s active engagement. Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index
TOTO has been selected as a component of one of the ESG investment indices, the Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index. The Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index is an index developed by Morningstar using Equileap’s data and assessment methodology to focus on each company’s efforts under its gender diversity policy.(as of January 2026)

S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index
TOTO has been selected as a component of one of the ESG investment indices, the S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index. The S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index was created by S&P Dow Jones Indices in the US, one of the world’s largest independent index providers, based on the carbon emissions data provided by Trucost, a pioneer in environmental assessment. ISS ESG Corporate Rating
TOTO has been designated as 'Prime' in the ISS ESG Corporate Rating. (as of January 2025)
Key Evaluations and Awards
TOTO has been highly praised by external parties for each of its initiatives. We will promote such initiatives to achieve medium- to long-term growth in the future.

TOTO has been named to the CDP "A List" for both Climate Change (3rd year) and Water Security (2nd year). This marks our second consecutive year achieving a Double A rating. . (as of December 2025)

TOTO has been selected as one of the 10% of companies in The sustainability Yearbook -2025 Rankings, a sustainability assessment program conducted by S&P Global, a global investment research and evaluation corporation in the United states. (as of February 2025)
PRIDE Index
Awarded the highest "Gold" rating in the PRIDE Index 2025 (organized by work with Pride). This is our sixth Gold award since we began applying in 2018, and our fifth year in a row to achieve this distinction for our LGBTQ+ inclusion efforts. (as of November 2025)
