TOTO Group Compliance Policy

Purpose

The TOTO Group complies with laws and regulations, societal rules and other requirements in all of its corporate activities, aiming to achieve customer satisfaction through fair and transparent conduct.

1. All TOTO Group employees shall develop sensible business activities in transparent, fair ways, and sustain sound normal relationships with political organizations and governmental administrations.
2. The TOTO Group shall abide by the laws and regulations of individual countries and regions, as well as international norms, develop business activities with respect for cultures and customs, and create business customs that are globally effective.
3. The TOTO Group shall respect international standards, including the protection of human rights, and never shall be involved in forced or child labor, and encourage the members of its supply chain, including business partners, to respect international norms.
4. In its business activities, the TOTO Group shall comply with related laws and regulations and international norms and the spirit of such laws, regulations and norms, and conduct and compete in business in a fair and transparent manner.
5. The TOTO Group must never provide, for the purpose of seeking unfair profit and getting and maintaining preferential treatment, business entertainment, gifts or monetary compensation for acquisitions, etc.
6. In the case of an unforeseen event, the management team shall demonstrate its commitment to solving the problem to both inside and outside the TOTO Group, finding the causes and taking measures to prevent recurrence, and the TOTO Group fulfills its social responsibility to disclose information and achieve accountability, define authority and responsibilities and take firm action even against the management team.

TOTO Group Human Resources Policy

Purpose

TOTO Group Intellectual Property Policy

Purpose

The TOTO Group respects intellectual property (patents, technical know-how, design, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, etc.) and appropriately protects, manages and uses its intellectual property constituting the source of the distinctive characteristics of TOTO as it seeks to increase the value of the TOTO brand and provide products that are valuable and reliable for customers.

TOTO Group Human Rights Policy

Purpose

-As a member of international society, the TOTO Group shall respect the international norms of human rights and fulfill the responsibility to respect human rights as a company.

-The TOTO Group shall comply with the laws and regulations in each country and region, as well as international norms.

-If internationally recognized human rights and the laws and regulations in each country and region contradict, the TOTO Group shall pursue ways to respect the principles of international human rights while complying with local laws.

2. Assessment and review of the risks related to human rights

-To fulfill responsibility to respect human rights, the TOTO Group shall build a mechanism to assess and review the risks associated with human rights and continuously implement this. The TOTO Group shall also identify the adverse impacts on human rights through the mechanism and work on the prevention, mitigation, and reduction of such impacts.

-The TOTO Group shall stipulate key issues concerning the risks associated with human rights in its business activities and work on reducing such risks.

-With regard to the key issues, the TOTO Group shall regularly conduct assessments and reviews according to the changes in social circumstances and its business activities.

3. Correction and remedy

-If it has become clear that its business activities caused, contributed to, or resulted in adverse impacts on human rights, the TOTO Group shall work on the correction of such impacts through the appropriate means.

-The TOTO Group shall work on the building of a structure to be able to receive concerns and complaints from stakeholders through the internal and external whistleblowing desks where those to whom adverse impacts on human rights have occurred or are likely to occur can consult and strive to solve the problems or implement remedial measures.

The TOTO Group shall also accept anonymous whistleblowing and confidentiality, such as the name, of the whistleblower, shall be strictly observed.

4. Dialogues with stakeholders

-The TOTO Group shall evolve a series of initiatives of the Policy through dialogues and discussions with stakeholders.

-The TOTO Group shall disclose the status of the initiatives of respecting human rights through its website and other means of communication.

5. Human rights education

-In order for the Policy to be established for all corporate activities and to be effectively implemented, the TOTO Group shall provide the appropriate education and training for all people working for the TOTO Group and encourage its suppliers and the persons concerned who are involved in its businesses, products, or services.

6. Continuous initiatives for respecting human rights

-To continue and enhance the initiatives to respect human rights, the TOTO Group shall regularly review and improve the Human Rights Policy.

-The TOTO Group shall expect its suppliers and the persons concerned who are involved in its businesses, products, or services to understand and support the content of the Policy and continuously encourage them to respect the Policy.
