Dialogue with Shareholders and Investors
IR Activity Transparently and Fairly Communicates the Most Recent Information
TOTO undertakes to engage in communication with institutional investors and shareholders as well as with individual shareholders and investors in Japan and other countries on the basis of IR policy in order to treat them with transparency and fairness. In addition to disclosing information in a timely manner through its dedicated website, TOTO also holds separate meetings as well as briefings to explain its financial results.

We host explanatory meetings for private investors because we want them to be more interested in our business. We offer various opportunities to provide information for the private investors.
Visiting Foreign Institutional Investors
With economy becoming more global every day, our top management does IR activities every year for foreign investors to have them understand our corporate strategies enough before they buy our shares. We visit the investors in Europe, United States, and Asian countries. As they see the presence of our products growing in each country, their interest in TOTO is also growing.
What We Do for Domestic Institutional Investors
For domestic investors, we hold meetings to explain our strategies and invite them to our plants from time to time, not to mention announcing financial results twice a year and entertaining media daily.

Building Closer Relations with Shareholders
Special Benefit Plans for Shareholders
We provide private shareholders with Special Benefit Plans to build closer relations with them. From fiscal 2012 onward, products (such as rice and wine) related to environmental and social contribution activities such as the TOTO Water Environment Fund and the TOTO Acorn Reforestation Project and products that help support disaster-stricken areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake will be selected as complimentary gifts.

Evaluation by External Parties
In response to requests from investors and society, TOTO makes an active effort to disclose information on its sustainability initiatives. TOTO's sustainability activities are highly evaluated in and outside Japan and is included in the following SRI Index. SRI Index is a group of corporations that are selected for being excellent in not only profitability, but also sustainability activities such as compliance with laws, good practice in employment, respecting human rights, good consumer relations, and contribution to society and to local communities.
Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World)
TOTO was selected for the global socially responsible investment indicator, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices(DJSI) World Index. This is the 13th time that TOTO has been selected for this index.
Also TOTO was selected for the DJSI Asia Pacific Index for the 16th consecutive year.
The DJSI was developed by S&P Dow Jones in collaboration with RobecoSAM, a company that specializes in investigating socially responsible investment. It analyzes corporations from the three perspectives of economy, environment, and society, and selects the top 10% of companies that excel in business sustainability as DJSI World Index.

TOTO has been selected as one of the 10% of companies in The sustainability Yearbook -2025 Rankings, a sustainability assessment program conducted by S&P Global, a global investment research and evaluation corporation in the United states.

S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index
TOTO has been selected as a component of one of the ESG investment indices, the S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index. The S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index was created by S&P Dow Jones Indices in the US, one of the world’s largest independent index providers, based on the carbon emissions data provided by Trucost, a pioneer in environmental assessment.

Since 2016, TOTO has been selected for the FTSE4Good Index, an equity index series that is composed of companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards.

FTSE Blossom Japan Index
TOTO has been selected as a component of one of the ESG investment indices, the FTSE Blossom Japan Index. The FTSE Blossom Japan Index is a comprehensive ESG index that is a sector-neutral version of the FTSE4Good Japan Index, a series of FTSE indices and one of the ESG indices with the world’s longest history.

TOTO has been selected as a component of one of the ESG investment indices, the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index. The components of the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index have been selected primarily on the basis of FTSE Russell’s ESG assessment, taking into account the management approach by each company to the risks and opportunities associated with climate change.

MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index
TOTO has been selected as a component of one of the ESG investment indices, the MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index. The MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index is an index developed by the US company, MSCI. It selects companies with relatively high ESG ratings in each industry from the largest Japanese companies by market capitalization.

MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index
TOTO has been selected as a component of one of the ESG investment indices, the MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN). The MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) is an index developed by the US company, MSCI. It calculates scores in a multifaceted manner based on women’s employment-related data disclosed under the Act on the Promotion of Women's Active Engagement in Professional Life and information disclosed by companies and selects companies in each industry that are recognized for women’s active engagement.

TOTO has been selected as a component of one of the ESG investment indices, the Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index. The Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index is an index developed by Morningstar using Equileap’s data and assessment methodology to focus on each company’s efforts under its gender diversity policy.
