TOTO EXHIBITION -Design meets ecology-
TOTO participated in TOKYO DESIGNERS WEEK 2011, Japan's largest design event held at Meijijingu Gaien in Tokyo during the 6 days from November 1 to 6. This year the event celebrates 26 years and the theme was "Love for Earth, People and Objects." With designers and companies in Japan and overseas presenting their individual efforts, we also showcased our own Earth-friendly products and shows at our installation space.

“minamo” Designed by TORAFU ARCHITECTS

Toto's theme this year was MINAMO—Design meets ecology
This year marked Toto's 5th participation at the event, and we joined hands with TORAFU ARCHITECTS, a company that is actively involved in a wide range of areas from architecture to product designing.
Our installation space was one of beauty and fantasy, where products appear among the swaying lights.
Visitors stepped onto the soft reflecting sheet that catches light and saw that the reflected light swayed like water surface (minamo in Japanese) and experienced the interactive installation that showcased the beauty of water surface movements without using water.
Outside our booth we displayed the skeleton models of bathroom and toilet related products with high water-saving functionality, fine design, and great comfort made possible through technology—including a NEOREST product, allowing visitors to see the internal structure of these products that they don't normally get to see.
We also prepared an animation titled TOTO'S Environmental Efforts to help kids understand our commitments to the environment.
